Teaching methods of preparation to CCE exam on B1 level for bilingual students

In this diploma thesis, we present a methodological approach for the preparation of bilingual children attending the Czech School without Borders in London (CSWBL), with a specific focus on preparing them for the B1 level exam organized by the UK's UJOP workplace. The theoretical part of the thesis begins by providing an overview of CSWBL, including a brief history of its operation. Subsequently, we offer a definition of the term bilingualism. A particular emphasis is placed on the unique aspects of teaching Czech to bilingual pupils residing in London. This serves as a crucial foundation for the practical segment of the thesis, aiming to acquaint the reader with CSWBL, elucidate the concept of bilingualism, and delineate the specific challenges associated with teaching bilingual children residing outside the Czech Republic. Given the current absence of textbooks tailored for teaching bilingual students, our objective in the practical part is to create teaching materials for the eighth grade, aligning with the students' needs. Czech language in deaf children's lower secondary education

Presented bachelor's thesis is focused on problems of teaching of Czech language to deaf and hard of hearing students on lower secondary education. The first part of the thesis provides general description of hearing impairment, communication options for deaf and hard of hearing people and basic information on educating deaf and hard of hearing pupils. Next part is focused on teaching of Czech language to deaf and hard of hearing pupils containing listing of available materials, description of differences between educating a pupil who prefers Czech language in communication and pupil who prefers Czech Sign Language. It also define language competencies in written speech of deaf and hard of hearing pupils. The goal is to call attention to very small number of universal research works focused on language competencies of deaf and hard of hearing pupils, pinpoint the current deprivation of teaching materials for pupils who prefer Czech language in communication and prepare a suitable worksheet for pupils who prefer Czech languege based on the gain knowledge.
Board games used for teaching Czech in Primary Schools

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to make a contribution to discussion about suitability of using board games in education and to confirm that making use of board games is a valid didactical method used for teaching Czech language. Theoretical part is focused on play and game, making use of games in education, board games, their characteristics, categories, types and utilization in education. Following chapters explore advantages and disadvantages of using board games for teaching Czech which encounter Primary school teachers and contributions of games to devepolment of key competences. Further in the work, an overview/summary of Czech language board games suitable for teaching Czech and available on the Czech market is stated. These games were evaluated according to beforehand set criteria. A collection of my own board games created for needs of Czech language Primary school teachers follows.
Methodological procedures used in Czech language education on courses for foreign children

This thesis aims to find out and compare different methods of teaching Czech language on courses for children with different mother tongue and their effectiveness in working with children. The theoretical part introduces the issues foreign children have in Czech schools and summarizes the possible solutions. There are also listed the school systems of the countries from which most children come to the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis there is research, which was performed by observation method. This research attempts to capture the whole course of the lesson, the practices of the lecturers and the behaviour of pupils.
